The T\u00f6rggele has been considered as a regional custom for centuries. Nowadays it delights in having increased popularity amongst locals and visitors. The term T\u00f6rggelen is based on the word \u201cTorggl\u201d which used to be the room where the wine press was held. Finally, according to custom, the new wine is tasted amongst good company. In addition, several hearty regional specialities such as dumplings, sauerkraut and a resplendent selection platter etc. Roast chestnuts and sweet doughnuts expertly round off this sociable tasting and ensure that this experience is one that lives long in the memory.<\/p>\n
Keschtnweg, the Feldthurner chestnut trail is a classic hiking route to S\u00e4ben abbey. Feldthurns, at 856m is the starting point. From there, over Pardell and S\u00e4ben to Klausen there is a difference in elevation of about 331m. This walk of about 5km takes about 2 hours and is classified as \u201ceasy\u201d.<\/p>\n
Another good hike on the Keschtnweg is from Feldthurns into beautiful Brixen. It goes from Velthurns castle to Ansitz Ziernfeld and then up to the W\u00f6hrmaurer hotel. Other landmarks on this route are W\u00f6hrgraben, Gfaderhof\/T\u00f6tschling, Saderhof und Pinzagen. This medium difficulty hike to Brixen takes about 2 and a half hours. For the return journey you can take the bus back to Feldthurns in comfort, on request.<\/p>\n
Enjoy \u201cSia\u00dfn\u201d and \u201cNuien\u201d. When you hear this then it is talk about the tasting of the \u201csweet\u201d and new grape juice.
